Switching From Windows to Mac – Part 2

October 6, 2010 by

This is the second of my 2-part video series on why I switched from Windows to Mac (click here to see Part 1).  In this video I discuss how cloud computing, being a web worker, and compatibility made this an easier switch than it would have been in the past.

In my next video I’ll share some resources I found that really helped me get up to speed quick and shortened the learning curve as a new Mac user.

Have you made the switch to Mac or been thinking about it? Post a comment below and let me know your thoughts, what has made you want to switch, or what is keeping you on Windows.

  • Fun to hear your thoughts on the big switch, Phil. When I made the switch last year I was doing a lot of ASP.NET programming which required Windows. I installed VMWare so I could run a virtual installation of Vista (blech) and keep on doing my thing. It worked fine, but my preference for the Mac OS vs. Windows was so lopsided that I couldn’t stand firing up VMWare. Now I’ve transitioned my primary service offerings away from ASP.NET so I can spend more time away from Windows. Life is good! 🙂

    • Great to hear it Dave! Yes your switch and seeing how much you loved it was definitely one of the final straws that pushed me over the edge. As you know I have been talking about doing this for some time – good to be on the other side of the fence now!
